Brittany P. Jenkins

punctual organizer, monitor, and creative

After graduating from the University of Southern California, where I studied Business Administration with a concentration in Digital Media/Entrepreneurship, I took the biggest risk I could take in my entire life. I didn't pursue securing employment at a Fortune 500 company like my peers; nor did I immediately enroll into graduate school. I decided to start my own business. Without a salary, any benefits, or profit I worked tirelessly 80 hours a week to make an innovative concept tangible. From this entrepreneurial experience, I successfully gained a vision to understand how I can contribute to the marketing world through my passion for digital media technologies.

Please review the following information to learn more about the various skills sets I've acquired to become the qualified professional I am today. Thank you for interest in my talent!

Event production: Creating Opportunity

Problem

During my collegiate concert production career, USC’s student affairs events did not have any programs catering to the emerging neo-soul and jazz fusion community on campus.

Solution

Together, me and a team of my peers collectively produced a series of live events scaling from local talent showcases to large music festivals to meet this community's demand. From this experience, I earned opportunities to also assist in producing major national music festival events for renowned production companies, such as HARD Events and Guerilla Union.

Skill sets used:

Project Management, Task Performance Tracking, Organizational Management, and Leadership

PROTOTYPING: Framing Market Problems

Problem

Producing numerous live events for rising independent artists brought me closer to the stories behind their artistry and personal businesses. I soon discovered the platforms they distribute content through painfully do not allow them to fully control the monetization of their digital creative assets.

Solution

In collaboration with the independent artists, we collectively began to prototype a live streaming product which would allow them to create and stream content directly to their personal websites. The functionality of this product concept created value for artists to collect 100% of the revenue generated from their content's traction by redirecting it away from the major content platforms and to their independently operated ad spaces online.

Skill sets used:

Project Management, Storytelling, Prototyping, RFP Drafting, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, Microsoft PowerPoint, Focus Group coordination, and Concept Designing

MARKET RESEARCH: ANALYZING INDUSTRY Landscapes

Problem

After prototyping a valuable product, further research revealed its concept addressed the artists’ problems to help them control the monetization of their assets. However, the concept did not address why any market would pay for its end product to yield profits.

Solution

Dig for information. Tireless market research led to the following discovery:

strategically tagged digital arts media can provide the marketing world insights on the cognitive processes of peoples’ multi-facetted digital identities in an automated cross-platform analytics solution

Skill sets used:

Resilience, Research Study Coordination, Surveying test groups, Database Analytics, Data Mining, Informational Interviewing, Courage, and Curiosity

MARKET RESEARCH: Scoping Market Opportunities

Problem

Our team conducted research supporting the opportunity for artists to profit from strategically tagging content. However, the automated cross-platform analytic solution needed proven viability with research paralleling marketers' pain points to their online ad budget investments and losses.

Solution

Conduct deeper research into the key sectors on the marketing and advertising industries. Extensive researched revealed, who our target customers were, why they would value our product solution, and how they could use it.

Skill sets used:

Problem solving, Fluid white-boarding, Critical Thinking, Resilience, Brainstorming, Positive Thinking, Imagination, and Creativity

Product Designing & Business Model Engineering

Challenge

Thorough research into the independent music and marketing industries sparked the following two questions:

What kind of innovation can allow independent artists to control the monetization of their creative assets?

How could this innovation operate to provide marketers insights on how to appeal to peoples’ multi-facetted digital identities?

Solution

Discover and combine existing cloud-based technologies to distribute content using subjective computing. In result, the product model designed supports marketers paying artists for the data generated from users engaging with their strategically tagging content.

OPS MANAGEMENT: Contracting Teams, Vendors, & Partners

Challenge

After innovating the solution to holistically address market opportunities, it was time to recruit and focus team members/vendors on a production plan. With such a strong thorough vision, how could the innovation be presented for professionals to comprehend their contribution to its development?

Solution

Draft fluid RFPs, pitch decks, and webpages depicting how, when, and why their skills will contribute to the product’s development and executive direction.

Skill sets used:

HTML, Javascript, CSS, Web Development, Organizational Management, Squarespace Apps,Webflow Apps, POV drafting, Microsoft PowerPoint & Word, iMovie, SEO, SEM, Storytelling, and Superior Communication

OPS MANAGEMENT: Producing Work plans & Budgets

Challenge

After reviewing proposals, each team member and vendor contributed their perspective on the best way to develop the product solution. However, one set plan needed to be produced to guide the product’s development.

Solution

Collectively, partner vendors and team members devised timelines, budgets, and contracts to orchestrate our work agreements. As a leader, I coordinated each deliverable to produce a fluid and timely work plan we all could follow.

Skill sets used:

Negotiation, Planning, Task Management, Performance Measurement, Superior Communication, and Leadership

OPTIMIZATION: THINKING PRECISE UNDER PRESSURE

Challenge
